All of us have winning Sundays – when the temperature hits 90 just as the hangover peaks and for whatever reason, there’s an errand to be run at the Grove, which feels a bit like taking an axe to the soul.

There is hope, my friends – and it’s a quick jaywalk across Fairfax. A word of advice (spoken from experience): before hitting the town on Saturday, schedule a morning-after brunch with friends and be of sound enough mind to name TART as the meeting spot. It’s centrally located, has a breezy, shaded patio, and serves kick-ass Bloody Mary’s, bowls of alcoholic tea punch and $15 bottomless mimosas, to really take the edge off.

The Farmer’s Daughter Hotel (in which TART is located) is in the midst of a charming renovation and their menu maintains what former Executive Chef Nick Erven put in place, before his recent move to Saint Martha (go if you haven’t already)… Regardless, get a load of that French Toast and tell me you don’t feel better already.

Also – and this is no joke – if you jump in the pool with your clothes on, you get 50% off your meal… Which should just about cover the alcohol it takes to make you do something so stupid.
