Fig & Olive
The Supreme Court's recent same-sex marriage ruling called for a midday lunch and rosé celebration... Enter Fig & Olive. Because dining on its 8,000 square foot floor feels a bit like being invited into the country estate of a very elegant French woman... One who knows how to celebrate in style and uses olive oil in place of butter in her dishes.
Plates are generally light and delicate -- specifically the Zucchini Carpaccio with lemon and pine nuts, or the Octopus a la Gallega -- thinly sliced, braised octopus with marinated bell pepper and black olives.
There are some naughty items too, like the Fig and Gorgonzola Tartlet, which is really just dessert disguised as an appetizer. But if you or Boss are anything like me, you aspire to French women. And what's a French woman without her vices?
